Parents are an essential part of the Head Start Program and are included in the planning and operating of various functions and activities. Parents are needed to participate with program classroom parent meetings, policy committees, council, workshops, training, planning menus, etc. Parents learn the needs of their children and educational activities that can be carried out at home through participation in classes and workshops, and receive a minimum of two home visits and two parent teacher conferences per child.
