At Booker T. Washington Child Development Center our emphasis is on education, responsibility, and respect for each other in a safe supportive environment.  Our daily programs provide your child with developmentally appropriate academic sessions, arts and crafts, exercise, music, science, computers, and games. The programs are aimed at developing not only educational skills but interest in and excitement about the process of learning, in a warm and stimulating environment.

 

The Booker T. Washington Child Development Center has been serving Phoenix area families now for over 55 years. We have a five-star accreditation from First Things First and participate in Quality First and the Federal Food Program.

Creative Curriculum

Booker T. Washington Child Development Center, uses the Creative Curriculum fifth edition for Preschool, designed for early childhood programs serving children ages 3-5. The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is based on five fundamental principles:

 

  • Positive interactions and relationships with adults provide a critical foundation for successful learning;

  • Social emotional competence is a significant factor in school success;

  • Constructive, purposeful play supports essential learning;

  • The physical environment affects the type and quality of learning interactions and;

  • Teacher-family partnerships promote development and learning.

Staff & Facilities

The enthusiastic and caring staff at Booker T. Washington Development Center receive regular training in the process of early childhood education, child development, health and safety, and teaching techniques. We follow the conscious discipline curriculum. All staff are trained in both CPR and first-aid, have passed the state mandated TB, fingerprint and background checks, and have food handler's cards. The Adams Street school facility has video monitoring and is a secure campus with gated entry for safety.
