BTW Preschool & Head Start
The essence of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center is our dedication to serving young children and their families. We understand that parents are the primary educators and role models for their children. All of our programs support parents as they pursue social, economic, and educational achievement.
We offer two primary programs: a free Head Start program and a tuition based Preschool program for ages 3-5 with some scholarships available. Our programs have received a five-star rating from First Things First, their highest rating. Our Head Start program is offered at multiple locations in the Eastlake and Garfield communities. Head Start and Preschool are available at our main campus at 1519 E. Adams Street.
Celebrating the Success of the 5th Annual Holiday Drive
This holiday season, the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center (BTW) proudly hosted its 5th Annual Holiday Drive, bringing hope, joy, and vital support to families across the greater Phoenix area. Thanks to the collective efforts of our generous community, we provided assistance to 183 families, impacting the lives of 588 children. Of these, 92 families are part of the BTW community, underscoring the deep connection we have with those we serve.
This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our sponsors, The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Amazon. Their partnership exemplifies the power of collaboration in creating lasting change, and we are deeply grateful for their continued commitment to our mission.
​We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the countless volunteers, donors, and community members who gave their time, resources, and compassion to make this drive a success. From packing and distributing gifts to spreading the word and contributing to the drive, each act of kindness played a vital role in bringing this event to life.
M.A.N.C.A.V.E. is a partnership between the city of Phoenix Human Services Department, My Brother's Keeper, Greater Phoenix Urban League and the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center. Whether in-person or virtually, M.A.N.C.A.V.E., provides services that promote responsible fatherhood, healthy marriages, and economic mobility.
